There is a lot of support for you when you decide you want to apply for a job. Supported employment can help you to reach your goals.

Supported Employment

Supported employment helps people with SEND to get into and stay in work. The aim of this is to help you to become independent and included within the workforce.

Royal Mencap Society

Supported Employment in Sutton has now moved from Choice Support to Royal Mencap Society. The local authority pays for the service to allow you to receive support regardless of your situation. Amazing Apprenticeships

Amazing Apprenticeships have a range of support for providers and apprentices. They have a bank of resources that you can use to help you prepare for an apprenticeship. Other Organisations and Programmes Available

Better Working Futures - Support for those with additional needs to find employment. They work with you to create a plan to help you to achieve your goals. London Futures - A programme that helps young people with SEND transition into work. One way they do this is through engaging you in a range of sports. They also offer workshops and career development. To learn more, visit London Future's service profile.

Employ Me - A programme run by Mencap to support young people with SEND who are not in employment, education or training. They help you to build your employability skills and confidence. Disability Employment Advisers (DEA) - Provided by Job Centre Plus. DEA's will work with you to see what kind of work will suit you best and can help you to gain new skills to find a job. Positive Directions - A skills-based training programme for young people. You can access this if you live in South London and are not in employment, education or training. Prince's Trust - Run a range of courses to help with employment. Carshalton college run a 'team programme' that allows you to build practical skills. This also allows you to gain work experience. Project Search – A year long programme for young people aged 17-24 who have SEND. You will be based at Sutton Health and Care. They will support you to build a range of skills that can be used in different workplaces. You will also be in a work placement up to five days per week. Intensive Personalised Employment Support - Government support for people who have SEND. You will get a support worker who will give you support to suit your individual needs. To find out more about the support you can receive, visit the GOV.uk website [External Link].

Work and Health Programme - A government run programme that helps you find work if you are unemployed. They also give you support to stay in work once you find a job.
