Sutton Carers Centre is an independent charity (and part of the ‘Together for Sutton’ Partnership) delivering a wide range of free, local support services to meet the needs of unpaid Carers in the community. A Carer can be anyone, of any age (child or adult), who provides care without payment for a friend or family member who lives with an illness, disability, mental health or substance misuse issue. Sutton Carers Centre also runs Sutton’s Young Carers Service, which provides a range of free, specialist and targeted support to children and young adults aged 8-25 years who have caring responsibilities.
Sutton Carers Centre can provide information, advice and support by telephone, online, by email, drop-in or by appointment. Our opening hours are 10am - 5pm Monday to Friday and until 8pm on Tuesday evenings.
The services provided are:
Information and Advice Services:
Confidential welfare benefit checks and benefit form-filling assistance by phone or in person
Needs-based small grant applications
Help navigating health and social care systems, including managing risk
Links to local volunteer support services
Help with aids and adaptations and access to Occupational Therapy support
Diagnosis/disability specific information and advice
Access to statutory Carer Assessments, breaks, respite and covering care
Regular social groups and activities
Support Services:
Online and in-person Carer Peer Support groups
Mental Health Peer Support groups/workshops, and individual support with our Sutton Uplift Carer-specialist Wellbeing Navigator, Psychological Therapists and Peer Support Workers
Training and workshops
Specialist End of Life Care support via the Palliative Care Co-ordination Hub
Access to statutory Carer Assessments with Sutton Social Services

Young Carers Service:
Advice, information and guidance on caring, caring issues, mental health and personal wellbeing
One-to-one emotional and practical support sessions
Group peer support sessions
‘Chill & Learn’ Homework Club

Schools-based specialist support for Young Carers
